Roscor's Guardian Data Archive Server

Roscor Corporation Introduced Their New “Guardian” Series of Archive Servers

Mt. Prospect, IL, March 19, 2010 – Roscor Corporation today introduced their Guardian archive server – a series of two servers that meet the archiving needs of budget-minded video professionals.

Roscor’s Guardian archive servers feature true hierarchical storage, drag and drop functionality, mounts the entire archive as a single file system as a Windows logical drive, and is optimized for CIFS/SMB and FTP protocols. The Guardian servers are powered by XenData Archive Software and uses POSIX tar format so tapes can be restored even without XenData software.

Both tower servers in the Guardian series, the XV1 and XV2, include the Intel® Xeon® 2.26Ghz Quad-Core processor, 4GB ram, 2TB usable RAID 5 Storage, and the HP 1760 SAS Ultrium LTO-4 Tape Drive. The Guardian XV2 server includes two LTO-4 tape drives allowing for multiple copies of each tape to be made, facilitating off-site disaster recovery.

“After years of building custom archive systems for clients, we felt the market was calling for an affordable alternative in data archiving. We have taken known and trusted equipment from manufacturers that we have worked with for years and integrated them into a single usable and stable product” said Tom Voigts.
