AJA Ki Pro: A revolution in
production and post
Eliminate the cost and inconvenience of logging and capturing footage.
The AJA Ki Pro is a tapeless video recording device that produces Apple
ProRes 422 QuickTime files which are ready for immediate use within Final
Cut Studio. Simply connect the media to a host computer and begin editing.
Unify SD, 720 and 1080 cameras and formats with one superior 10-bit full-raster
codec-Apple ProRes 422. Because it features SD/HD-SDI, HDMI, and analog
inputs, you can interface with virtually any type of camera you might
own or rent. Ki Pro features cross-conversion so you can have a 720p
camera produce a 1080i recording to match your other camera... or vice
versa. And if you've got high-quality SD cameras, Ki Pro can even help
you extend their use since it also up-converts SD camera signals to HD
recordings.
- No more digitizing
- No more worrying about which camera to use
- High-quality ready-to-edit video
Also, see how AJA’s full line of I/O cards, conversion and new
router products can help fill in your production workflow gaps.
Also see the JVC GY-HM100U
and GY-HM700U cameras
The GY-HM100 and GY-HM700 series cameras are the world’s first
professional high definition cameras to utilize SDHC solid state memory.
SDHC media provides affordable storage for ENG/EFP production with running
costs similar to professional videotape. Recording at 35Mbs on a 16GB
SDHC card provides 58 minutes of record
time. Typically a 16GB SDHC card will cost $28 or $0.48 per minute.
With running cost per minute this low it’s possible for producers
to archive footage on the original SDHC card recorded in the camera.
Native File Recording
The GY-HM100 incorporates JVC's Native File Recording technology that
stores video in the ready-to-edit format used by Apple's Final Cut Pro™ non-linear
editing system. The ".mov" files created in the camera can
be easily dragged onto the NLE timeline without conversion or rewrapping,
saving time while keeping the recorded material first generation. There
is no need to use an intermediate codec.
The camera can also store files in the ISO Base Media File Format (MPEG-2
Long GOP), compatible with all major non-linear editing systems. In this
mode, the files and folders are recorded so that they can be easily accessed
in the post production process.
The GY-HM100 records audio as uncompressed LPCM data in both Final Cut
Pro™ and ISO formats.
