In November 2002, Blackmagic launched the DeckLink capture card and in doing so single handedly made working in true 10 bit uncompressed video on a Macintosh OS X™ system an affordable reality. The DeckLink name has set the standard in world beating firsts. As one of the first 10 bit uncompressed capture cards to work seamlessly with OS X™, it became famous for its affordable $295 price tag. Then followed DeckLink HD, which for the first time gave HD-SDI editing and design to everyone. Since DeckLink HD's introduction it has continued to change the industry with its 10 bit quality and outrageous $595 price.

And so, in true Blackmagic Design fashion, 2004 saw the launch of the new DeckLink HD Pro the world's first true 10 bit and 12 bit dual link 4:4:4 and 4:2:2 high-end video capture card for Mac OS X™ and Windows XP™ systems (NAB 2004).

DeckLink has now made the Blackmagic vision a reality with thousands of creative people across the world using DeckLinks in every type of post-production workflow imaginable.

Blackmagic Design has set the standard for an entire industry. With innovation and quality at the heart of every project, Blackmagic launched a rapid succession of amazing products for creative people. A great example is the new HDLink dual link SDI to DVI converter which made quality broadcast monitoring incredibly affordable - removing one of the biggest barriers to working in HD.

The launch of DeckLink Multibridge, the world's highest quality bidirectional all-in-one analog converter and breakout box (at IBC 2004) combined with the Workgroup Videohub (the first sub $5000 video and audio router), has finally seen the original dream of Blackmagic Design become a reality.
